Delete customer data and conversations
How to permanently delete individual customer data or conversation histories (GDPR Art. 17).
Last verified: 2026-07-20
Zentor App offers several deletion functions in the "Chatbot" section → customer profiles: deleting a single customer, deleting individual messages, or deleting entire conversation histories. All of these functions perform a real, permanent deletion in the database — not merely anonymization or flagging. Every deletion is logged (audit log).
Step by step
- Open the customer profileIn the "Chatbot" section, navigate to the customer profile of the relevant customer.
- Delete customerClick "Delete customer". Optionally you can also delete linked appointment bookings.
- Alternatively: delete only the historyTo delete only the message history of a conversation (customer data remains), use the corresponding option in the conversation view.
- Alternatively: delete session incl. customer dataAnother option deletes the session, all messages and the linked end-customer data together in one operation.
- Confirm the deletionConfirm the deletion — it is irreversible.
Expected result
The selected data is permanently removed from the database; an audit log entry documents the time and scope of the deletion.
Common error cases
I want my entire tenant/account deleted but cannot find a function for it.
Cause: Fully deleting a tenant is intentionally not self-service — it can only be performed by Zentor via the Master Admin area.
Resolution: Contact Zentor to have your tenant fully deleted.
I want customer data to be automatically deleted after a certain period.
Cause: A retention period can be stored, but it is currently not automatically enforced — there is no automatic deletion job for it.
Resolution: Delete customer data manually via the functions described above until further notice.
I performed a deletion and want to restore the data.
Cause: The deletion is a real, permanent database deletion with no trash/recovery function.
Resolution: Restoration is not possible — carefully check what data is affected before any deletion.
